Genres: Acid, Balearic, Broken Beat, Disco, House
Played at: Dead Wax, Hare & Hounds

Roo is the alias of Rachael Finch who is co-founder of the music magazine Halcyon Wax and the women and non-binary collective Shifting Spheres – where she runs DJ workshops and a label in Manchester in order to promote inclusivity. As a dedicated crate digger she holds down a residency on Balamii which explores soul and depth in electronic music with a particular focus on 90s house and vinyl. Alongside selecting, she has written articles and reviews for The Ransom NoteIdentification of Music and BABMAG.

Roo injects plenty of soulgroove and depth into her sets. This can be felt through her selection across a multitude of genres from deep house to dreamy, otherwordly electro, to cosmic nu-jazz and balearic melodies, as well as broken beat, acid and disco. Her selections have seen her support the likes of CaristaSpecial Request and Al Zanders, appear on Rinse FranceBBC West Midlands and Melodic Distraction and play at Lakota Bristol, The Hare and Hounds in Birmingham and Deadwax Digbeth to name a few.
